Preparing to Raise Capital? Here's What Founder Lab Is Really About.
Raising capital isn't just about having a great idea, it's about knowing how to tell your story, understanding what investors are looking for, and building a strategy that positions your business for long-term growth.
That was the focus of our recent Founder Lab Information Session, where we shared what founders can expect from Movement51's flagship accelerator and how we're helping women-led ventures across Canada become truly investor-ready.
Founder Lab is a nine-week accelerator built for women founders who are preparing to raise capital within the next 6–12 months. Through a combination of expert-led workshops, practical application sessions, one-on-one mentorship, and peer support, founders leave with more than just knowledge—they leave with a clear fundraising roadmap.
Throughout the program, participants build an investment-ready pitch deck and data room, strengthen their financial strategy, learn the mechanics of venture fundraising, and gain confidence navigating valuations, governance, term sheets, and investor conversations. Just as importantly, they join a community of ambitious founders who continue to support one another long after the program ends.
The session also highlighted what makes Founder Lab different. Rather than offering broad startup advice, the program is intentionally focused on helping founders prepare for real fundraising opportunities. Every module, expert session, and coaching opportunity is designed to move participants one step closer to being ready to raise.
Since launching, Founder Lab alumni have raised more than $69 million in capital, representing ventures across 23 industries from coast to coast. Those outcomes reflect the power of combining practical education, meaningful connections, and a community committed to helping women founders succeed.
